Sam found her first jar of Muiskraal Kalamata-style olives in 2023 at a Padstall in the middle of the Karoo. When she couldn’t find anyone selling them in Johannesburg she decided to buy a few boxes and see what other people thought. Everyone LOVED them! She started selling olives at markets all over Johannesburg, and was dubbed “The Olive Lady” from her passion for and knowledge about olives and their health benefits.

This domain and the business name was available, and with that, The Olive Lady became official in the second half of 2025.

The Olive Lady is now selling more than just olives, but keeping the dedication to sourcing and selling only the best quality and most delicious products that are also healthy! And supporting and keeping it local as much as possible.
